Serna Imperial Reserva 2010 de Bodegas Escudero y Licenciado Reserva 2016 de Bodegas Burgo Viejo encabezan, con 95 puntos cada uno, la relación de los mejores riojas a precio asequible realizada por la revista Decanter. Con 94 puntos aparece Vendimia Seleccionada Crianza 2016 de Bodegas Heras Cordón y con 93, Sierra Cantabria Garnacha 2015 y Muriel Reserva 2015.
Los catadores analizaron 183 de las marcas que en Gran Bretaña cuestan entre 10 y 20 libras (de 12 a 24 euros). Sus puntuaciones establecieron que en esa muestra había dos fuera de lo común, 13 altamente recomendables y 109 recomendables. Entre las conclusiones, que la denominación muestra una “notable y consistente calidad” y que muchos de los riojas catados,“merecerían un precio mucho mayor”.
