¡Cacaolat Caliente!

In 1933, Cacaolat, the first bottled cocoa shake in the world, was born in a small factory in Barcelona, Spain. Since then, it’s become an iconic Spanish drink served cold in the summer and warm in the winter. Many Spaniards, when they see the bottle, are brought back to their childhood, being served a Cacaolat for breakfast or at Merienda as an after-school snack.

There’s an old expression for Cacaolat that plays well for a wintry afternoon in New York: ¿Manos frías? ¡Cacaolat caliente! (Cold hands? Hot Cacaolat!) And we’re one of the only places in the US that carries it outside of Spain – so come to the Colmado or any of our kiosks (or our Online Shop) and ask like the Catalans do, Posa’m un Cacaolat! (Give me a Cacaolat!)
